Pineapple Rasam Recipe | HungryForever

Pineapple rasam, quite a special rasam recipe to impress your family or guests.The pineapple adds distinct flavour and taste.
INGREDIENTS
To temper
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Coarsely mince jeera, pepper and green chilly, Set aside.
  2. In a mixer add 1 slice of pineapple. Puree it and set aside.
  3. In a bowl crush ½ tomato; add 3/4 cup water and turmeric powder.
  4. Now add the pineapple puree, required salt give a quick mix and heat it up.
  5. Add pepper jeera mixture and let it boil for a good 5-7mins until raw smell leaves.
  6. Chop another pineapple slice into small pieces, chop remaining ½ tomato roughly and keep it ready.
  7. Meanwhile in pan heat oil, add the tempering and let it splutter.
  8. Add chopped pineapple, tomato and sauté for 3 minutes or until raw smell leaves.
  9. Now add this mixture to the boiling rasam. Adjust water and salt at this stage.
  10. Pressure cook toor dal till mushy, mash it well with a ladle and add it to the rasam. Let it boil until its frothy on top.
  11. When it starts to froth, switch off and garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.
  12. Serve hot.

Pineapple Halwa Recipe | HungryForever

Pineapple halwa is a pineapple flavored mouth watering sweet dish. A delicious dessert dish which can be served as a snack or after meal sweet! 
INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Heat a non-stick pan, add sugar and water enough to soak the sugar. Cook stirring continuously tills the sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove stem of the pineapple, cut it into small pieces and add to the pan. Add saffron and cook on low heat.
  3. Heat ghee in another non-stick pan. Add semolina and sauté on medium heat till light golden.
  4. Add almonds and cooked pineapple along with the sugar syrup and mix well. Cook till semolina is cooked. Add khoya and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with almonds and serve.

Pineapple Gojju Recipe | HungryForever

Pineapple Gojju Recipe is a sweet and spicy, tangy curry made using pineapples, typical to Kranataka. It is a festive dish and served during weddings and other celebrations when a traditional meal is served on a banana lead. It is rich in flavour, thanks to the pineapple and freshly ground spices that are used. It is best served with hot Steamed Rice, but can also be served with Chapatis.

  1. To begin making the Pineapple Gojju Recipe first place a pan on the heat. On a medium heat dry roast urad dal and set aside.
  2. Then dry roast the coconut till it turn slightly brown and toasted. Make sure not to burn it. Remove it and set it aside.
  3. Roast the red chillies with just a drop of oil, in the same pan.
  4. When the above roasted ingredients have cooled, put them in a mixer jar and grind into a paste along with tamarind paste, using water as much as it is required.
  5. Then, place a deep pan on the heat and add some oil to it. When it is warm, add mustard seeds and let it crackle. Add curry leaves and when they crisp up add in the pineapple chunks.
  6. Saute them by tossing on a medium heat until they soften and the edges start browning. At this point add the ground paste followed by 2 cups of water and allow the curry to simmer.
  7. Add salt and jaggery, mix well and bring it to a boil. Simmer for 10 mins more on a low heat, till the gravy turns thick.
  8. Serve it hot with steaming hot Steamed Rice and ghee or with Chapatis. You can also store the gojju in an airtight container in th refrigerator for a few days.
