Nasi Padang, an Indonesian dish named so for its origins in Padang City, West Sumatra is steamed rice served with an array of choices, up to 12, of pre-cooked dishes. Quite similar, in vein, to the meals of South India, this format allows individual restaurants to explore and offer a diverse variety of the pre-cooked dishes served with the steamed rice that is the only staple of the Nasi Padang.
